New to the group
Hi,
I was searching diet plans and came across this one. I had never
heard of it so I don’t have the book yet. I plan to start Monday as
Mondays are always my first day for any diet. I want to loose bad,
starting to not fit into my clothes..Yuck…Can any of you give me
advice on where to buy the book. Do you have to join the online
plan or can I purchase a plan and book somewhere? Please tell me
how you are all doing on the diet? Is there alot of cooking
required for this diet or can you subsitute quick foods somehow?
Don’t have alot of time to prepare alot of dishs. Would like to
hear how members are still doing on this diet?
Thanks
Deb

Not only new to the group, but new to the South Beach Diet as of Yesterday. I am on Day 2.
Lost 2.5 pounds, but I realize that it is all water when I first start out and cannot expect it to keep up at that pace.
I have set mini goals set for myself. I have lost 53 pounds in the last 3 years on another controlled carb plan, but needed something different to get myself off of this 6 month plateau, and have joined the SouthBeach website itself so that I can switch out the meals easily.

I’m a teacher and bought the South Beach Book this morning after
getting on the scale and thinking I’ll not be able to fit into my
clothes when school begins August 30. (I need to lose 10 pounds to
get to where I was when school got out in June and 70 pounds to get
back to where I was when I got married 10 years ago.) Everything I’ve
read so far makes this seem like a diet program I can live with. One
question has already popped up: the book has several pages of
recipes, but I hate cooking; is it possible to succeed by using just
the food lists (do eat and don’t eat) for each phase?
Thanks,

Hi! I tried the South Beach Diet (kind of) about 2 years ago but couldn’t give up the beer. I’ve since stopped drinking beer and want to try it again. I am 28 and single, so I don’t cook too often. I have the South Beach Diet book and the orange cook book. I am trying to read the blue book, the main diet book. So far this diet seems kind of complex, but I think that is just because I don’t know what I’m doing yet. This weekend I will be going out of town for 2 days. What can I eat? So far the only thing I’ve been eating the last 2 days is mahi mahi (nasty since I can’t cook), hard boiled eggs, and chicken breast and broccoli. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Oh and I want to lose about 20 pounds.
