Hi
My name is Karen and just heard about this group. I’ve had surgery
GBS 3 1/2 yrs ago lost 160lbs. Felt like this was a piece of cake.
Then 6 months ago I started to gain weight, I was right it’s to good
to be true. My old habits of snacking came back. I am really feeling
like a failure and with that what do you do with those feelings is
soothe them with food.
I was going to counseling ever week but things never got better.
Never could find the real root of the problem.
When I had GBS I was 290 got down to 130lbs looked like I was
dying. Then gained 15lbs on purpose and was told that i was still to
thin and now I weigh 170lbs and don’t fit into my clothes and
everybody is commenting me on how much weight I gained and how I
should watch it. (boy that really hurts which makes me feel more like
a failure). I’m going to start the SBD and would love to talk to
anybody who has experinced simiular situation as I have.
PLease any help or advise would really help.
Than You, Karen

I just joined your group.
For the first time in my life I want to be HOT! lol
I started the SBD on April 19th, 2004; that day I weighed in at
(gulp) 390 #. I was so depressed, disgusted and full of self
loathe. I knew if I didn’t do something about my weight I would
develop Type II diabetes and worse…..
I’m 39 years old, about to turn 40 next month and with a flick of
some internal hidden switch I suddenly became really motivated. As
of today, May 27th, I have lost 42 # and weigh in at 348. I am
seriously motivated and plan on joining a gym when I hit my goal
weight of 220. Obvioulsy I have a ways (or is that weighs?) to go.
Yes the health benefit is good too, but I just want to be buff and
hot.
I am still in Phase 1 as I haven’t been bored yet with the palette of
food and the weight has been dropping off but I do plan to move to
Phase II this weekend. For the Memorial Day weekend I want to make
some BBG chicken (has anyone else tried Lawry’s Carb Options label
BBQ sauce? it’s not too bad, homemade is better, mind you, but
unlike homemade, it’s sugar free) and some couscous with red lentils.
God bless Dr Agatston for creating a plan that’s easy to follow and
doesn’t leave one starving.
Well that’s it for now,

I thought I would introduce myself. I have been doing SB since April 6. I have lost 25 lbs. I have been trying to get my bloodsugar under control. It is helping.
I like it because I can feed my family about the same foods that I eat and they don’t realize that there is a difference in the food.
