Sharene, eat healthy until the wedding, have a healthy snack before
the reception (or even a glass of metamoucil) like Dr. Agaston says
in his book, so you are not starving to death. And after that you
should enjoy the meal, besides being the brides´mom doesn´t leave
you much time to sit and overstuff yourself with food. You´ll be
mainly talking to people.
I think occassions like your own birthday, christmass, thanks
giving, and whatever is special for you should be enjoyed. And then
on regular basis, daily basis be more rigorous.
I wouldn´t worry too much. And I don´t think that for 1 day you´ll
gain a lot.
I´m still on stage 1 and loosing a lot of pounds, yesterday I broke
the diet to have a mexican celebration with my friends so I had all
kinds of goodies. To my surprise, I wasn´t that hungry so I did not
overeat, so I still felt good about myself. I think whats worse than
eating is feeling guilty because then you wreak havoc everything. So
think in advance: The day of the wedding I´ll enjoy all there is to
eat and I WILL STILL FEEL GOOD ABOUT MYSELF, From the next day on,
keep on your healthty habit.
Good luck on the wedding

Hi all,
I have just started SBD. This is my 2nd day. So far so good. I
don't feel hungry and feel as long as I stay away from the carbs I
will be able to do this. I think it is the carbs that make me want
all the junk foods I eat. Looking forward to reading your messages
and helpful hints.
Thanks,
Kathy

Hello all. I am a 34 yo guy on the SBD since Dec. 1st. I have lost
20-25 lbs (depending upon the day that I weight myself). However, I
seem to have kind of stalled. I have been getting tired of the
recipes in the book, both from a standpoint of taste, but mostly
prep...they take so long to prepare in many cases! I have been
using Dana Carpender's recipe books (500 Low-carb recipes, and 15
minute low-carb recipes) and have really enjoyed the recipes and
have tried to stick to the ones under 10 carbs per serving. I have
also been using Atkins products and other low-carb specialty foods
like flax pancakes and flax hot cereal (both are lower carb than the
oatmeal SBD recommends on phase two). I have the occasional glass
of wine, and never have more than 2-3 (I only fill them 1/4-1/2
full). I run 9-11 miles a week adn lift weights three days a week.
I want to lose another 20 pounds if possible--that would get me to
where I was in high school. Right now I am about where I was when I
finished my freshman year of college. The hardest part of this diet
has been taht my wife will not eat anything that has artificial
sweeteners in it. Anyone else the only one in your family doing the
diet? How are you dealing with this? Has anyone else stalled and
how did you get past it? I am still going down in pants sizes and
have dropped a shirt size...but I would like to see something I can
quatify on a scale...Thanks!
