SB Dietand Gout

Wednesday, March 12th, 2003

My friend and I have been on this diet for a month now and like it a
lot. However, she has had a flare-up of gout which undoubtedly is
related to the intake of protein in this diet. Does anyoneknow how to
cut down on the protein and still remain on the SBD?

New here and a question

I did…then I started adding carbs back into my diet and the pounds started to come off again (I’m now losing 1 lb per week on average).

You might want to add some additional types of exercise in and mix them up a little so your body doesn’t get used to doing any one thing…it seems to help.

Have a GREAT day!!!

P.S. I do it…my kids do it…you can do it, too! As often as you
want, whenever you want, and you’ll even get paid for it!

New here and a question

Hi. My husband and I have been on the SBD for 4 weeks now. We decided
to stay on phase one only because it’s actually not that hard to
follow. The first week I lost ten pounds and I haven’t lost anything
since. My husband lost ten in the first two weeks and is no longer
losing anything.
We are following the meals to the letter, recipes and all. We also
workout for an hour 4x a week.
Has anyone else hit this plateau?
Thanks!

Another newbie!!

Another newbie here. Actually I have been on SB for awhile now. I
have lost 15 pounds so far. Need to loose about 30 more though.
It’s gonna be tough with the holidays coming!

Newbie too!

I need to lose some weight also and I am tired to death of Atkins!
I go off it I get so bored with it! The water also gets sickening
after awhile.
I have gone around the net and gotten recipes and a copy of a week of
the diet and plan on starting it tomorrow morning.

Hi Karen…

I’ve been doing the SBD since mid-July. It’s working (slowly) and I was feeling better because of it (I have other health issues, so I’m not feeling too good these days).

My main advice to you is to get to the weight that YOU feel comfortable with, and then tell everyone else to go sit upon a rock if they think you’re too thin or too fat. You’ll never be happy otherwise. When they live in YOUR body, they can have a say. The thing is, people in general dislike change. They are used to you being extremely overweight and things are different now. The best thing for you to do is to discuss it with your doctor, find out what the range for your height and build should be, and then shoot for whatever number is right in the middle.

The diet is hard at first, but it gets easier over time.

Have a GREAT day!!!
