Intro and question

Hi, my name is Mary Ann and this is my first try at the South Beach
Diet. I’m 5′2″ and weigh 150. My husband has just been deployed to
Iraq and I’m going on this diet for two reasons: 1) so I don’t gain
weight while he’s gone and 2) I’d really like to WOW! him when he
gets home (that will be around June 2005). Also, our daughter is
getting married in October of 2005 and I joke with her and say that
one of my goals is to look better than her future mother-in-law at
the wedding LOL!! I’d like to lose between 25 and 30 pounds. I’ve
joined the local YMCA and I’m trying to get there at least 4 times a
week.
I have a couple of questions for you. I absolutely detest eggs and
all the breakfasts contain eggs. I’m used to cereal and toast and
plain meat just doesn’t float my boat. Does anyone else do
something besides eggs for breakfast on Phase 1? Also, I hate
Ricotta cheese. Is fat free/sugar free pudding alright as a
substitute?
I really like the way the diet is set up. I only wish that there
were more suggestions for breakfast and desserts on Phase 1. The
eggs and ricotta don’t do it for me and I would guess that it would
get boring really fast.
Thanks a lot.
Mary Ann
