Week Three

Monday, August 11th, 2003

Hi Everyone,
Tanya here from MD.
I am just loving this diet. I am finishing up week 3 of the diet and
have lost about 12 pounds. Totally, I was looking to lose 25 pounds. I
did begin to add a few carbs back on week 3, and weight loss has
continued.
After reading the book, I was convinced that this was a more healthy
way . It has certainly has worked for me.
Success to all of us!!

I live near Rochester, NY. Just a few minutes away, south.

Welcome new members. If you feel lousy for a few days, it could be just adjusting to the reduced carbs in phase1. Atkins was even worse, as it was even stricter. No could do!!

Someone asked about meal plans. I am not much of a cook. LOL. For breakfast I often eat the Ricotta chesse, but 1/2 a cup and add pecans, 1/4 a cup. I take glyco nutrients and flax seed oitl caps.

I am on day 6 and starting to get adjusted. My snacks are a couple of lower fat cheese sticks. One day I stuck two into romaine lettuce leaves and ate as a snack. I don’t need but the one snack a day, mid-afternoon. I eat Ricotta cheesse for dessert right after dinner.

I cooked up some hamburger meat and got rid of all the fat I could. I got it out for about three different meals, one day, with green beans and a little cheese. Another day to make like a taco salad with no corn or starch.

Today I will eat two weiners and spinach before I leave for work. They say you can eat beans now in update; so, am opening a can of French Onion soup and having it with beans in it. I don’t eat as much.

I have lost 2 pounds this past week. It goes off a lot slower than it came on!

Hello I am New =)

My name is Kristin and I am 24 years old from Southern California.
I just started this diet two days ago. I was originally on the
Atkins diet and lost about 30 pounds. I am six foot one and weigh
250 pounds. I was 300 and something before the Atkins diet. I have a
question , I read on a SB message board that Pork Rinds are not
allowed but on the Atkins diet they were. I really love them and
they are a great to snak on when you need chips. Can anyone answer
my question? I hope to make some friends on here and hope to talk to
you all soon. Have a great day!
Love
Kristin :)

Trying Again

Wednesday, August 6th, 2003

I decided to try Phase I again. I was only able to get through a few
days of Phase I the first time I tried the South Beach Diet. I was
tired all the time, and I was always hungry, but the net result was
that I lost 8lbs in four days. I stuck to the suggested menu and I
think that’s what helped me. This time around I don’t think I’m
going to give up the morning coffee, but I’ll substitute the half &
half with skim milk and use Splenda instead of the real thing.
I’ve been snacking on Pistachio nuts. Are nuts allowed in Phase I?

good meal plan and exercise routine? Please HELP

Tuesday, August 5th, 2003

hey I’m new to this group and I plan on starting the SBD again. I
got 9 days accomplished of phase 1 and then I gave in, but I could
tell I was losing weight just in those 9 days. My boyfriend and my
family don’t want to be on this diet but they don’t care what I eat
as long as I eat. Can someone help me make meal plans for breakfast
lunch and dinner for the first 2 weeks because i love fruit and I
know we aren’t aloud fruit. I have a very big sweet tooth after I
finish dinner also. I was just wondering if anyone could help me
make up a meal plan that I a 19 year old could stick to. and if you
could throw in a good exercise routine for me to do at my YMCA it
would be great. I love to swim and do the eliptical machine(sort of
like running but less jaring on the knees and back) but I can’t do
to much running(even though i love it, I used to be able to run for
an hour and 1/2)or anything strinuous on my back because I have back
problems, with at my age sucks. The Doctor said I had to lose weight
or i may just hurt myself more. Just fyi for you guys; I am 5′1 and
130 wanting to be 110. 20lbs not much but it will be a big
accomplishment for me. Thanks Bunches. Jewlz

I am feeling nicer today. I guess our bodies must get used to this diet. I had Ricotta cheese with pecans for breakfast, mighty good!!

I thought I would email both groups. I am not easily grouchy or depressed, but today I have an “attitude”. I think I miss the carbs of bread and fruit. I will lie low and keep my mouth shut and believe God that this will pass. My sister was really cranky when she dieted and gave up all the jelly sands.

Love to all,

the grouch from NY,
