I’m thinking about switching to the South Beach Diet

Hello Everyone!
I just started the Atkins diet and I feel sick! I don’t really
think it’s very healthy.
I was digging around my parent’s library and found the South Beach
Diet book. I read it and I think it makes way more sense than
Atkins! So I’m thinking of switching….
Does anyone know whether or not mayo is allowed in the 1st phase of
the diet? If it is, should it be full fat or reduced fat?

I am planning on starting the diet. I have one question… what is
the role of the new “low carb” products out there? Such as ice
cream, ketchup, dressings, etc? I know you have to look at the fat
too… I was just curious how you all incorporate some of the
products?

Hi.
I’m new here. My name is Robyn and I live in NJ. I started SBD
last Sunday. Day eight is tomorrow and all is well.
Has anyone else had “tummy troubles” after using Splenda? I bought
some iced tea with Splenda in it and had some trouble.
I know I had a piece of Stover Sugar Free candy over the Holidays
and it sent me straight to the ladies room.
Wondering if the natural sugar alcohols just don’t agree with me.
Also, I can’t seem to find any sugar free yogurt. I swear that I
have seen the nutrisweet logo on some yogurt somewhere but I can’t
find any.

It isn’t working! Help!

This is the first formal diet I have ever tried. I like it. While all of
the time it takes to prepare food is challenging I don’t find eating
this was to be difficult. I have followed it and not strayed once. I
was a little dissapointed because I only lost 6 1/2 lbs. in Phase I
and the book said that the average loss is 8-13.
Now I’m on my first week of Phase II and I’ve gained one pound
back. I have not added in all the carbs allowed in Phase II. I
only changed breakfast to Uncle Sam’s and fruit. That’s it. I don’t
even eat the snacks sometimes.
It’s working for my husband, so I don’t know why it’s not working
for me. Any ideas?

Yesterday it rained off and on all day. It was over 90 one day, down to about 60 the next. We are expecting a good weekend, though.

Yesterday I got a rebounder at WalMart. I will do exercises in my room.Am starting slowly because my back hurt a little. This has been recommended to me for eye exercises and other things.

Hi all. I find that in most things the best way to get info is
going to people that have done it… they offer more insight than
books. We just got the book today and in a few days I will be
starting the SBD along with my hubby and mom. What my main
question is what do you all drink besides decaf coffee, decaf tea
and water?

Hi. I’m new to this group. I just started SB on Saturday. so far
so good :-). I have the book but am wondering about yogurt. I
heard somewhere that yogurt is allowed in phase 1, is that right?
Also, is there change in approved beans from the original book?

New and confused

Hi,
I am new to this and wanted to know how many carbs a day you can
eat in phase I and phase II. Like Atkins in the induction phase you
can only eat 20 carbs or less. Is there a limit with SBD, if not how
do you know when to stop eating? Please Help???

I started SB this week and I am starting to think its not for me. :( I feel
like a bit of a failure because I know 2 people who have lost 25lbs and 30lbs
and I can’t even do it for a week, lol. I am debating about going off SB and
back onto WW which I lost 14lbs on. I am trying to continue doing it, but I am
not loving it. :P Donna
