Is this okay to drink?

Sunday, December 28th, 2003

I mean the flavored drinks they sell in almost all the stores that look like
water, but fizz up a little? The back of the bottle claims no carbs, no sugar,no
calories;– no fat, no nothing. So I was wondering if anyone else used them as
a substitute for a cola.

newbie question

Thursday, December 25th, 2003

Hi everyone
I am new to the SB diet…actually, I just finished day one. My
husband needs to loose weight and I said I would do this diet with
him. I know I eat a lot of sweets and carbs, I guess you can say I am
a sugar addict, so it can’t hurt to cut down.
I can’t tell if I am going through sugar and carb withdrawls. Nothing
I have read said I would feel so crappy. I either have a stomach bug
or my body is in shock from detox. I know it is only one day with no
carbs or sugar so I don’t know if this is a common experience or not.
Anyone else go through this horrible feeling?

Eggs……I need help!!!!

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2003

I am allergic to eggs…I need some advice on if its ok to use just
the eggs substitute or if eggs have to be in this diet. I have the
book and I have read but I cant send to find any info on it All I
get is the recipies that maybe say use eggs and an egg substitute. I
am really excited about trying to start the south beach but I do
need some advice on this first.
Thanks

Digest Number 118

I am not a gourmet cook, LOL. I think most people cooked the cauliflower some and then pour a melted cheese sauce on top. There are ready made ones to use, or you can make a white sauce and then put pieces of cheddar in the pan near the end of the cooking time to melt it. With white sauce you have to watch it closely. You could also do the mashed caulifl. and then add the cheese sauce to it.

I’m starting this together with DH tomorrow.
I’ve done a LF version of LC before and was quite successful.
It was to strict a regimen for DH, so I’m starting him on this.
Right now I have one question ( I’m sure there will be more later),
what is the butter substitute?
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen it here.

Mayo? I am new!!! Somersize vs. SBD

Tuesday, December 16th, 2003

Hello,
I am new also, and I was doing somersize, and I have tried weight
watchers. I am confused, can you have mayo on this program? I am
reading the book and for some reason, it is not “clicking” with me!
Can someone tell me the difference between this and somersize? Maybe
that would clear it up?
Is the cookbook ‘kid friendly’ in other words, are the meals more
gourmet-ish, or can I get away with pushing them on picking
children?? hee hee.
The one thing I really LIKE about somersize is the website is
FREE. ;o) But I guess you get what you pay for!
Thanks in advance.

Hello-new to group

Sunday, December 14th, 2003

Hello Everyone,
I am new to this group-just started today.
I am 5′, 155lbs and want to lose wt to improve my health: mentally
and physically.
I was wondering if it’s okay to use light soft cream cheese with my
veggies, e.g. celery sticks. The kind I have has 2 gm of Carbs per
serving.
Also does anyone use Penzey’s seasonings? I have a wonderful blend
from them called “sandwhich sprinkles” and wonder if that’s okay on
this diet.
Glad to have the support. Thanks
