Quick Update

Sunday, February 29th, 2004

Well, I am on day 15 of the SBD and Phase 1 had its ups and downs. I cant do another mini egg quiche or I will start clucking. I am reluctant to go into Phase 2 - I do not feel like the cravings are totally gone (still a few fast food cravings) but they have been easy to resist (I think that in large part is because of the hypnosis). I think I am going to stay in Phase 1 for one more week. Although Publix had some beautiful blueberries on Sunday.

Drumroll please…….

6 weeks on the beach

Monday, February 23rd, 2004

I am a relatively new member here. I have been on the diet for 6
weeks, and I have lost 17 lbs. as of this morning! After the first
two weeks, this diet is manageable. I have been very pleased.
I just wanted to give some encouragement to others that it can work.

salmon

Sunday, February 22nd, 2004

My husband and I went salmon fishing in Lake MI and came back with
our limit. He’s smoking most of them , but saved 2 for the grill!
This should inspire me for week 2 of phase 1. My biggest problem
today was getting up at 3:15 AM, made the day a lot longer and the
time between meals and snacks seemed to drag! But I stayed with the
Phase 1 program.

new here plus Caffeine

Thursday, February 19th, 2004

Hi there,
I started 4 days ago and it is going well. I am combining this
program with body for life. THe weight comes off faster eating this
way, but I like BFL workouts. Is coffee and diet cola ok? I’m not
having a problem with it, but I have heard it increases insulin levels
and therefore makes it harder to lose weight. Any input would be great.
Thanks
HL

Phase 1 - Day 4

Tuesday, February 17th, 2004

I’ve successfully completed the first 3 days of Phase 1 and am
working on Day 4. Following the program/diet plan isn’t really hard,
but it seems like I spend a lot of time thinking about food. (Before
when I thought about food, I’d just eat something so I didn’t have to
think about it anymore!) Does this go away?

Starting phase 2 NEED HELP

Monday, February 16th, 2004

Hi, I have been on phase 1 for 3 weeks and lost 7 pounds and i will
be starting phase 2 on monday i am wondering if it is ok to add two
pieces of whole-grain bread and a fruit to my diet and all the other
foods from phase 1? for 2 weeks

What about wine?

Saturday, February 14th, 2004

Did I miss the part in the South Beach Diet “bible” explaining
exactly how much wine is considered an acceptable level to imbibe?
Medical research indicates how heathful a glass of wine a day is, but
will a glass a day undermine the South Beach regimen?
I’ve been on the diet for four weeks and have already lost a size.
The only food I missed the first week was my daily Fuji apple. The
other thing I missed was a glass of wine after work. I mean, I really
missed the wine. So, starting week three, I’ve been enjoying wine
cocktails. I bought a cheap, dry, “box-o’-wine” and I mix two ounces
of wine with a diet soda made with Splenda over ice. I’ll have one or
two of these in the evening, always followed by a big glass of water.
I go to bed stress-free and sleep like a baby. I do wonder though; am
I tampering with the Dr. A. “switch”?
Anyone with a similar experience?

South Florida?

Wednesday, February 11th, 2004

Anyone in Florida interested in doing a Saturday morning walking group???

There are two or three places I had in mind:

BCC South (the path around the lake)

Loeman’s Plaza the Park behind the Plaza (has a nice path and its dog on a leash friendly)

or

Bark Park in Snyder Park (I like walking the path while the dog can run free)
my personal preference

Saturdays 11am? my personal preference

or

Sundays 2pm?

If any of these work for you - they all work for me - let me know.
