No Alcohol Really Makes A Difference
I think in the book Dr. A says its ok to stay on phase 1 past the two weeks but not recommended to do for too long.

One of the reasons not to stay on Phase I longer than 2-3 weeks is that you
really should add fruit and some complex carbs to your diet to make it
healthy. I would worry that by staying on phase 1 so long that when you do
start adding more foods in that you will gain some of the weight back. I am
a firm believer in a balanced diet so I am quite happy with Phase II.

I only had about 20 pounds to lose and have already lost 13 of it since June
1. Only a small portion of it was in my stomach. I have lost weight all over
my body and was actually shocked when I lost 8 of the pounds in the first
two weeks of Phase I.
I would disagree with the advice to not eat the snacks if you are not
hungry. They are a very important part of this eating program. Be sure that
you are eating enough food at all meals and both snacks. I also thought the
recommended desserts were an important part of stopping the sugar cravings.
The only other advice I have for you is not to stay on Phase I longer than
the recommended time. Switch to Phase II and be sure to eat lots of
vegetables with your meals and part of your snacks. Hope this helps and I
think if you stick with it you will be successful.

Hi Nita,
I’m no expert, but I don’t think unlimited milk is in phase 1. I have been limiting myself to a little low fat milk with my decaf coffee. There is one thing I know for sure, and that is that lactose-ree milk is not sugar-free milk. An enzyme is added to break down the lactose into two smaller sugar molecules for people who do not make that enzyme anymore for themselves. The amount of sugar is not decreased, but instead is made more available to the user, which would speed up the absorption and glycemic effect of ingesting it.
A friend of mine didn’t lose more than 2 lbs the first two weeks, but did much better by the end of the next two she did on phase 1. She continued to lose on p2 and looks terrific.
Good luck!
