NEW AND NEEDING ADVICE PLEASE

Good morning,
I’m new and just joined. Mom of 7 age 44 young.
I have been overweight ALL my life. Tried diet after diet a zillion
times and always give up…no willpower at all.
I do good for 2-3 days then blow it.
I am not ready to give up and admit I failed so here we go again.
I have tried Atkins and lost nothing. Think I took the “unlimited”
quanities to really mean UNLIMITED.
I’m going shopping today. I do not have the main South Beach diet
book but I do have “South Beach Diet good Fats Good Carbs Guide”
It is helpful but I always worry I’m not doing something right.
I do have a few questions please.
1.What about coffee? Can I have creamer?
2.what about protein bars or protein shakes? ( Slim Fast or Atkins )
I have found them helpful when needing a quick snack when out
somewhere.
3. Can a tbp of peanut butter be considered a snack?
4. How many snacks per day?
also….
In Atkins you count carbs.
5.Do I need to count carbs on south beach????
I’d really appreciate any help
