Weekend Help!!

Friday, December 31st, 2004

Hi Nini,

Weekends are hard!! Make yourself a do list on weekends and stay busy. Keep your mind and body busy. If you feel like you must have snacks or something have a sugar free Jello. It may sound gross but I’ve come to love them!! They come in lots of flavors and they have saved me more than once.

Don’t beat yourself up over this!!! Imagine a world with no guilt huh? Forgive yourself. It’s ok. No one in the world is perfect. Just keep telling yourself you CAN do this and start over again. By the way, this is week 3 for me too!! I’m going to stay on Phase One because I don’t mind what I’m eating…I’m afraid to add in more carbs because I don’t want to gain anything back. When you want snacks take a minute to visualize what you will look like when the weight is gone and think about how much better you’ll feel. Concentrate on that. They say nothing tastes better than thin feels…it’s been so long ago for me that I don’t remember.

Good luck!!

Weekend Help!!

Thursday, December 30th, 2004

I need some help on how to stay focus when the weekend rolls around.
I do so good Monday - Friday at work avoiding all the temptations,
but when the weekend comes and I am sitting at home trying to keep
warm (in Michigan), I find myself eating all kinds of junk that I
know I shouldn’t be eating, even if I am not hungry. So I was
wondering does anyone have a trick to keep me focused, how do you
keep away from munching. I’ve tried to get rid of all the junk, but
it is only there for my son lunches (chips, chocolate pudding, fruit
snacks)
I am so disappointed in myself, I have gained 5 of the 9 lbs I lost
and would be ending phase 1 today, but decided maybe I need to try
for 2 straight weeks of not cheating. I just don’t understand why am
I sabbatoging myself. I could see if someone was constantly putting
the food in my face, but no one is. I can avoid it 5 days out of 7.
The weekends just get me. I don’t know what it is. I was doing so
good. Please, suggestions would be and is greatly needed.
Thanks,
Nini

*sigh* I know this sounds bad, but I stay on it for at least two

I know what you mean Sarah. Personally I don’t find Phase One to be so bad really. By Monday I’ll be ready for Phase Two but mostly I don’t see that I’ll change anything. I’m quite happy with what I’m eating now. I’m enjoying it actually. Never thought I’d ever say that about a diet!!

I too did Atkin’s and lost about the same in a months time but I hated all the meat, cheese and eggs all the time. I didn’t like that there were so few veggies on the list. I just felt full of sludge all the time from all the grease. It just gagged me!! I’m much happier with SBD. Getting used to artificial sweeteners is rough and I don’t trust them so that complicates things just a bit. Note that your new diet is a lifestyle change and you’ll be on it forever not just until you lose weight.
All the best to you!!

Hi, my husband and I have decided to finally take the next step in
getting healthy by actually DOING something about it instead of just
TALKING about as we sit around and get bigger and bigger. We have
completed our first two days of SB and we seem to be doing ok.
He is having trouble getting used to the taste of splenda instead of
sugar in his tea. I am getting used to eating all of the time (so it
seems right now).
We both tried Atkins last year and I got sick and couldn’t handle the
radicle change - he stayed with it and lost 30 pounds - all of which
have come back.
This seems like the change we need - not only losing weight
(hopefully) but getting healthier also.
Wish us luck! I’m sure we will have lots of qu

Good Day to All!
Hello! My name is Lily and I started SBD on Jan. 4th. I’ve been
doing exactly what you are suppose to do on Phase I and I am also
working out at the gym doing 30-45 mins of cardio. For some reason I
have only lost 1 lb and tomorrow will be my 14th day on Phase I.
I’m not going to quick dieting, but it is frustrating when I’m doing
everything exactly the way is suppose to do and I’m not losing any
weight. Any advice anyone? Thanks!!!

My husband and I are just finishing our day 1 of phase 1 … still
trying to find a dressing for salad that we like, but I know we will
come across something! We look forward to a healthy new year! This
group is great!

Phase 1 - How Long

Wednesday, December 8th, 2004

The SBD book calls for 2 weeks, but I’ve also read where others have
stayed on Phase 1 for as long as 4 weeks.
I’m curious as to the experiences other list members have had with
the length of Phase 1.
