Diet’s back on

Sunday, January 9th, 2005

Hello all, new to the groupo. I started the diet back in August, from
aug- nov I lost about 45 lbs, was very happy. Then, of course, the
holidays came around and I lost my momentum - actualy gained a bit
back. I’ve finally started back on it, Phase 1 all over again. I’m
excited - can’t wait to start losing again! This is the only diet
I’ve ever been on that I’ve actually liked. I’ve heard people say
it’s not a diet, but a change of lifestyle, and I’ve always rolled my
eyes — with South Beach, I finally understood.
See you around - good luck and good carbs everyone! :)

Hi guys,
I’m on day 2 of phase one and i have some questions for you
1- Can i deep fry my food in olive oil?
2- How much beans can I have ( i don’t trust carbs I try to limit
the amount of beans i eat)?
3- What should i look for when buying margarine?
4- Can I start a weight lifting program while stil on phase one?
I know that i’m asking too many questions, but i wanna make sure
that i’m doing it right
Good luck to u all and thanks in advance

Easy No-Cook Tomato Sauce

Wednesday, January 5th, 2005

I noticed that a lot of people were trying to figure out what brand
at the store would be ideal to buy on SB. I had some tomatoes that I
didn’t want to go bad and was going sites trying to find a way to
make my own and found this recipe. It was quite tasty.
1lb. (3or4 medium) fresh tomatoes, coarsely chopped
1 Tbs. Olive Oil
3/4 tsp. Salt (I used Mrs. Dash)
1/2 tsp. Pepper
1 1/2 to 2 tsp. Balsamic Vinegar
In blender or food processor, combine and process all ingredients to
make a rough-textured sauce. Adjust flavor to taste. Makes 1 1/2 cup
sauce.
***I also threw in some (less than 1 pt) grape tomatoes, seasoned
with a little Thyme, Basil, Oregano, garlic powder and onion powder.
This was really good. I am going to use this when I make sphagetti
squash tomorrow with some ground turkey. It was truly quick and easy.
