National Nutrition Month 2005 emphasizes improving health by
adopting a varied diet and regular exercise routine. Sponsored by
the American Dietetic Association, this yearly observance aims to
educate and inspire with a few simple components:
Choose variety. A varied diet is both nutritious and exciting. Try
different foods that please your taste buds while ensuring you get
the proper vitamins and minerals.
Be sensible. Changing your diet does not mean you have to deprive
yourself of your favorite foods. Eating good food is meant to be a
pleasure. You can adapt your favorite recipes to be South Beach-
friendly and eat special treats on rare occasions.
Stay active. Regular exercise will help you maintain a healthy
weight while promoting cardiovascular fitness. And remember that
exercise doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive walking,
dancing, and gardening can be just as beneficial. Find a few
activities you enjoy and make a commitment to do them.
