Prediabetes/Mame
Thank you, Mame for your answer.
When I go for annual blood tests they test my fasting blood sugar, but
not the further routine you describe.
However, I feel that it’s fine right now. I used to get hypoglycemic
easily and often (a precursor to diabetes, which runs on both sides of
family), but since I eat *fairly* low carb (would never do anything like
Atkins), I no longer get low blood sugar (except occasionally the
morning after an oversized sweet treat, combined with fatigue, and while
exercising). Needless to say, I avoid doing that, except for the
occasional indiscretion

Suzan, I believe that the test for prediabetes would be an insulin
resistance test. They test your fasting blood sugar, then you eat a
prescribed amount of carbohydrate and retest at intervals to see where
your blood sugars are in relation to the amount of carbohydrate. If
you have prediabetes you need to eat a diet of healthy carobhydrates,
whole grains, etc. and exercise. Good healthy things whether you are
prediabetic or not.
