Question- having trouble with Constipation on the Diet

Saturday, November 26th, 2005

I have been having trouble with constipation on the diet, I am taking
the metamucil 3 times a day also, but that isnt helping with that area,
although it does seem to fill me up faster. I am praying someone has
some help for me.

The new kid in town… =-)

Hey all,
My mom and I have been doing the SBD for 2 1/2 weeks now. I thought I
could use a little support form others, so here I am. I used to do
Sugar Busters, and on that forum we had weigh in wed. … Is there
anything like that here? I found that announcing my accomplishments (or
in some cases setbacks) really kept me motivated….

hi ya’ll
my name is cindy, originally from texas, but currently living in
missouri with my husband and family.
my husband wanted us to start this diet, and have done so for 2
weeks. we are now beginning stage 2. when I weighed this morning I
had lost 10 pounds from when I started.
I have a question about snacks or desserts, the book says you can
indulge in fatfree sugar free ice cream bars, but I have some fat free
sugar free ice cream, that youscopp, is that ok? the one time I ate it
on phase 1 I didnt loose anything that day. was it that? I also ate
some grill chiken AND homemade chili that day. with a salad, so dont
know if it was that chili or the ice cream that slowed me down.

a good website for vegatable nutrition

Wednesday, November 16th, 2005

http://freshcutproduce.com/nutrifax/index.html
this is a great site to find out the nutritional value
in fruits and veggies…
eat your broccoli - it’s loaded with lots of good
things for you!!
take care all and keep up the good work… I’m
anxiously awaiting my yearly report back
from my Dr. he stated the south beach diet “is
as good as it gets”…and was impressed with the
25# I’ve lost since April 1st.
My total for the year of weight lost is - a whopping
36 # since May of 2004!!!! I was shocked to learn
I lost 11# without dieting, but by eliminating certain foods,
and exercising more.
I’ll hopefully have good results from my Dr and then
will report to you all. I’m hoping my cholesterol is
down… if not, then it’s for sure a genetic trait I’ll have
to live with.
Wish me luck!

success — losing weight and feeling great

Monday, November 14th, 2005

Hi all,
Just checking in to report where I’m at after a little more than two
weeks. I’ve lost 15 pounds, and I’m amazed at how much better
clothes are fitting — especially around the middle.
I was a little worried about the difficulty of some of the recipes,
but then decided that I’m not dumb, and I just needed to follow the
guidelines and I could come up with something simple and easy.
Here’s what a typical day for me is like:
breakfast - two strips of turkey bacon, two scrambled eggs (egg
beaters kinda thing) with no-fat cheese;
lunch-salad with tomato and green pepper, a little low-fat
mozarella, maybe a few slices of turkey breast or some low-fat lunch
meat;
dinner-broiled lean burger, some kind of beans (usually garbanzo),
salad;
snacks during the day are celery with a little peanut butter, and
some sugar-free jello with low-fat whipped topping before bed
Not so bad. I don’t miss the bread, potatoes, or rice. Sure, I’d
love a krispy kreme doughnut or two, but feeling better is well
worth the trade-off. I’m looking forward to seeing my cardiologist
next month, hoping to get off some blood pressure meds.
So, hang in there. You can lose weight and get healthy with this
diet.

Dairy

I have Kraft Parmesan Cheese and on the container is a sticker with the SBD
logo and it states it is approved for SBD’s so that would be another dairy
allowed, right?
