Becky,

Wow a 70 lbs. loss. That is wonderful. This is the first time I have gotten past about 15 I usually get discouraged and then give up. This time I am feeling much more committed. I have lost 30lbs. so far. I am encouraged to continue.

I am a SAHM. I have 5 kids too. Although I am under 40 and my “baby” is almost 6. 3 of my kids are teenagers so I have a bit of a struggle there. I only buy them snack foods that don’t interest me right then. I stopped buying pretzles because I could grab them too easily. I occasionally buy chips or something but they do not eat a lot of snack foods either.

I have tried to make the foods look like what we usually eat I just add more vegetables for myself and I don’t eat the starch unless it is appropriate.

Breakfast is usually eggs unless I just can’t face one that day. Then I eat some other protien. I usually have the veg. juice even if that is not my favorite.

Lunch is a salad or cut vegetables and cottage cheese. I have made chef salads or I just have some leftover meat with a salad.

Dinner has a salad and another vegetable or two nonstarchy vegetables. We eat chicken, ground beef or fish. I have made roasts a few times too. I am not as careful as I should be about the fat sometimes. Like I buy chicken thighs because they are cheaper than chicken breasts. I figure if I only eat one it is OK.

We have also eatten spaghetti sauce over spaghetti squash. My family eats regular noodles. I have just began to put back the complex carbs.

If you want more detailed information let me know. I have tried not to make it look like I am dieting to my family. It keeps them from complaining too much.

Hi Pam.
WTG you are doing great!! I’d love to know what a menu is like for
you. ‘m just starting SBD I Somersized and lost 70 lbs, got pregnant
with baby #5 at 40 y/o, and gained back 40 of that 70. I had begun to
drag on Somersizing, and knew I needed to cut out the heavy fats.
It’s going to take some getting used to, and I really need help with
meal ideas.
Congratulations on your loss!!

Hitting a plateau on the SB diet…

Saturday, February 4th, 2006

Maybe you need to change something about your workout. The kind of exercise you do or duration. That has helped me sometimes.
Pam

.
I do exercise every day- one cardio session and one
weight lifting session each weekday.
Any advice on how you all break out of your
plateaus?
Thanks,
Daniel

New and in search of some advice!

I have eatten cottage cheese for breakfast on days when I could not face another egg. When I finished Phase 1 I had fruit with it.

One day I had lunch meat and cheese rolled together with the veg. juice.

Pam

What else besides eggs can you eat for breakfast? I don’t even like
eggs that much to start with but after 3 days of eating them,
there’s no way I can put another egg in my mouth. Sorry for so many
questions, I’m just looking for some advice.
I think all the success everyone has experienced with the diet is
great!
Thanks,
Leslie

celery and a cheese stick. meat and cheese wrapped in a lettuce leaf, salad… these are some of the things that I have eatten for snacks. The basic principle is a small amount of protien and a nonstarch vegetable. Keep at it you can do it.
pam

are there any “free” foods….to snack
on…like celery?
I wish you all the best….I’m at 272…..need to loose 50 to 72 pounds
