Ideas for Food –

My hubby and I have been on SB since July 5 and have both lost over 25
pounds. It hasn’t been a lot of work, either — He has about 30 to go
and I have about 50. I know I can do it.
Below are some interesting things I’ve experimented with and love.
Perhaps you can use some of these in your meal planning. Hope you

Phase I OR II-
1. Grilled Chicken breasts ( or broiled ) I cooked mine on an
electric grill — Season it with Cajun Seasoning — When it’s about
done, put some low-fat (or non-fat) Creme Cheese on it and let it
melt. It works wonders for a change of pace! (You can do this with
steak, too.. we just don’t eat steak much here)
2. Stuff Celery with peanut butter or creme cheese.
3. Steam two boxes of frozen chopped spinach and add a carton (or
less) of the low fat creme cheese. Mix it up well and re-heat in the
microwave to melt. YUMMY!
4. My husband reluctantly gave up his own recipe for the following:
It would stand up next to any gourmet chef’s cabbage dish any day.
WARNING: this is a very spicy recipe….
Almond Cabbage: Slice a whole head of cabbage up, very thin
(1/16″ or so). Steam it for approximate 20 minutes or until cabbage
is tender.
Saute one large onion ( sliced thinly), in 1 tbsp. olive oil and
2 T. soy sauce with 1 heaping tsp. each of curry powder and tumeric
until about half done. Add one diced red bell ( or green pepper) and
2 medium jalepeno peppers, diced. Just before the peppers are done,
add approximately 2 tblsp, fresh, minced garlic ( or some that is in a
jar )
Combine onion mixture and cabbage together. Makes approximately 8
good size servings.
Place on a plate and sprinkle TOASTED ALMONDS on the top of each
serving. This is good cold or hot.
