Maltitol and other sugar alcohols???
The labeling is confusing — “NET CARBS” ???
I’ve seen supposedly SBD-compatible foods that contain Maltitol, which
is a sugar alcohol that is absorbed in the large intestine and has
little effect upon blood sugar. However, it’s technically a
carbohydrate…
Is there an authoritative answer on this? Can a Phase 1 eat foods
containing sugar alcohols?
And while I’m asking, can I really subtract fiber from total carbs to
get “effective carbs” or “net carbs” from the SBD standpoint?
