Not trying to TMI, but need help NOW!
Okay - I’m not trying to share more than I should but I have a concern
about this diet for my husband and I. We’ve been trying to follow the
SB way of eating for about two months now. When we first started we
had trouble in the bathroom department, but chalked it up to our body
needing to get used to a new eating plan. After about three weeks and
it was getting worse I added falx meal to some of our food thinking
maybe we weren’t absorbing enough fiber and tried to drink more
water. Now he is having cramps so bad he has to stop what he’s doing
at work until it passes and having very little elimination. Mine is
so hard that it hurts when I go and I have bleeding when I go. We
also both have gas so bad we’re embarrased to go out. Do you think
this could be the diet in general or do we need to change some way
we’re doing it? Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is
making us want to give up as we feel so bad. Thanks

Also try Sugar free Orange or unflavored Metamucil… Its what Dr. Agatson recommends in his book and personally I like the orange one.. tastes a lot like Orange Juice and not like a fiber supplement… Also I *Think* Benefiber has lots more carbs and sugars than Metamucil.. but don’t quote me.

Hi Lyne, I also had this problem when I started Phase 1. I started taking BeneFiber daily and it soon passed. I havent had anymore problems in that department. BeneFiber is not gritty and you cannot taste it. You can add it to a glass or water or tea. I had never been constipated in my life and believe me, it was not a fun experience. Good luck to you and hopefully this will soon pass for you and hubby…Christi

any suggestions on getting rid of Diarrhea??? I’ve been taking Metamucil, and been following the book menu pretty closly so far…
Also I have been sick lately so that might be related.. but if its the diet I would like to hear what you all suggest.. I would seriously rather be consitapated than have to go every 5 minutes.. I work with little kids.. I can’t just up and run to the bathroom and leave a 11 month old by himself!!
TIA!

Thanks - we’re going to try cutting the sugar free and then
seeing if that helps

Just wanted to let you all know that I was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday
morning, will out sometime between tomarrow and Monday. My asthma did a full
cout press that required IV steroids. They should cut me down on my doseage
again today and the plan is to let me finish treatment at home. Thr
great thing
about being a healthcare person. My biggest problem is getting anyhring that I
can eat in here. I was almost done with phase 1 and now have to start over.
I have my laptop here so I can keep up with all of you.
