hi joann

Glad to hear from you. I got very sloppy on my program in Aug/Sept.
and actually gained 4 lbs. But went back on ph1 in Oct. and have now
lost 6 lbs. I let too much chocolate and wine creep into my plan so
had to cut that out. Also started exercising this week so I am hopeful
for quicker results soon. Please share some of your menus and ideas
and I sometimes get in a rut. Thanks to all her share. - PAM

welcome dawn!

Glad you’ve come to the group. I’ve been on SBD for 7 months and have
lost 36 pounds. I think this is a great weight-loss approach and so
easy to follow. If you are mentally ready then that is half the
battle. Since you are young you have another advantage; METABOLISM.
I am 50 yrs. old and am confident I have none because it is so hard
for me to lose. But I press on. Because letting the weight “win” is
far worse than the battle to beat it. - Pam

Night cravings

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

I’ve been on P1 for 11 days, lost 4 lbs 1st week. I’ve been doing OK with
cravings and temptations, but last night (9 pm) I was overwhelmed by a
desire for Chardonay, chips and dip (my lifelong comfort food) - luckily,
the only one of the 3 in the house was chips, and I went to bed not giving
in to those, but this is the first time I can remember having a craving so
strong I almost couln’t ignore it. I’m pretty sure I’ve been losing this
week too by the way my clothes feel, and I keep having a mental image of me
stepping on the scale Sunday and being pleased - but I was wondering if any
of you have experienced these intense cravings, and what you do.
Thanks,
Pat

congrats on the 9lbs

That’s a terrific weightloss! Just keep eating because keeping
your “fuel burning” furnace stocked with good foods is the key. Also,
keeping up your water/fluid intake will help. I’ve lost 35 lbs on
this diet and am a total believer! On the weeks I don’t lose I
measure and I’m always down inches. I would take Phase 2 cautiously
until you see how your body reacts to the added foods. My thinking is
that it’s better to be eating healthy and making positive changes than
worrying about the scale. Because if you stick to it you are
guaranteed results in the long run. Good luck!

Indian poppadums - OK or not?

Monday, April 16th, 2007

I am 11 months into Phase 2 (50 lbs and counting) and am allowing
myself quite a few “experiments” to see what my body will tolerate.
How about Indian poppadums anyone? They are made from ural flour
which I think is either ground lentils or ground chick peas/garbanzos.
Seems they would be fine. I usually spray with olive oil and microwave
as they absorb quite a bit of oil if you fry them (but they are super
delicious).
Thanks for any info.
